CHARLES E. RUTT
MASONIC AND PERSONAL HISTORY
1977 – 2019
Brother Charles E. Rutt was born in Halifax, N. S. in May of 1941, moving to Springhill Jct., N.S. shortly thereafter when his Father was transferred overseas during the war. Educated in the Nova Scotia School System, graduating in 1959, and then attended Dalhousie University.
He has four children from his first marriage, Daughters Christine, Elizabeth, and Paula and Son Douglas. With his present Lady Patricia, he has a Stepdaughter Lynn and Stepson Steven and together they have thirteen grandchildren.
He began his working career with the Federal and Provincial Governments before leaving to work in the Insurance and Furniture Moving Industries. He rejoined the Federal Government with the Post Office and Statistics Canada, retiring in the early nineties. After a time with Woodlin Enterprises he went to work in the Auto Industry with Manheim Auto Auctions, where he is still employed.
Brother Rutt has been very active in Community and Church Affairs having served on many Committees and Projects. Having been active in Sports, he continued, after his playing days, by coaching Local and High School teams. Actively involved in the Political Process, he has served as President of both Federal and Provincial Ridings. When time becomes available, he and Pat love to spend time at their trailer on Clam Bay Beach.
